Kia ora, sat shri Akal, my name is Sonia Thakur. I’m from India and I have been living in New Zealand with my family for the last three years. I am married and blessed with a beautiful daughter. I am a qualified and registered teacher. Being an early childhood educator, I believe in providing a warm, welcoming, caring and encouraging environment for all children. I believe each child has different interests and strengths so being a Kaiako it is my responsibility to provide them more opportunities to play so that they can explore freely. My aim is to support children’s emotional and social needs, empowering them to build on their confidence provide the best possible care for children and believe in providing a positive atmosphere where every child is valued and respected. I strongly believe that children learn and grow from those around them, and that early childhood provides opportunities in a fun and friendly environment to do so. I love getting into children’s play and sharing humorous moments with them.

I am looking forward to with the children, teachers and families at 1+1 Preschool Centre and being a part of the amazing learning journey of young learners.
